Ooty also known as Udhagamandalam is the "Queen of hill stations" and the capital of Nilgiris district. It is one of the most popular tourist resorts in India. Nilgiris means "Blue Mountains". It is a land of picturesque picnic spots. altitude of 2,240 meters above sea level. An added attraction for the tourists to Udagamandalam is the mountain train journey which commences from Kallar, near Mettupalayam to Ooty. It draws swarms of tourists every year. The weather is quite pleasant at a mean of 15-20 degree C around the year, dropping to lowest of 0 degree C during winter. The landscape is marked by rolling hills covered with dense vegetation, smaller hills and plateaus covered with tea gardens, and eucalyptus trees.

Tourist Attractions at Ooty

If you are a lover of old buildings and heritage sites, then Ooty gives you many opportunities to indulge in you past-time. The Sullivan House, built by John Sullivan in 1822, is one of the oldest buildings in the area. It presently houses the Government Art College. The Club, Library and St. Stephens Church are some of the other colonial style buildings in the area; apart from the many English style cottages and bungalows. The Botanical Gradens at Ooty are a major tourist draw owing to the remnants of a 20 million old tree. The Summer Festival of the Botanical Gradens, held during the month of May, includes a flower show where large roses and multi hued chrysanthemums are displayed. The Festival also includes cultural events like the traditional Bharatnatyam dance. The Dodabetta Point is the highest peak in Ooty, and commands a panoramic view of the district. Wenlock Downs, with its golf courses and clubhouses, is one of the premier addresses of Ooty. Lake Ooty, the artificial lake built in 1824, offers boating facilities. The lakeside garden and toy train is a hit with tourists of all ages. Snowden Peak, on the road to Kotagiri, offers a magnificent view of Mysore city.

Day 01 : Arrive Bengaluru
Arrive Bengaluru. Railway Station, transfer to Hotel. Afternoon visit lal Bagh, Bull Temple, Vidhana Soudha, Visveswaraiah Industrial & Technology Museum, Overnight at hotel.

Ooty Tours Day 02: Bengaluru
Departure to Mysore (140 kms / 3.5 hrs). Enroute Visit Srirangapatna -Tippu Sultan's Island Capital, Palace, Fort. Upon arrival at Mysore, check into Hotel, Afternoon visit Chamundeswari Temple, Maharaja's Palace, Krishna Raja Sagar Dam and enjoy light & sound fountains at the Brindavan Gardens. Overnight at hotel.

Day 04: Mysore-Ooty
After an early Breakfast depart for Ooty (160 kms/ 4,5 hrs), the Queen of Hill Stations, Upon arrival; Check into Hotel, Afternoon visit Botanical Gardens and the scenic Ooty lake where you may enjoy an optional boat ride, Overnight at hotel."

Day 05: Ooty -Coonoor-Ooty
Full day sight seeing tour to Coonoor and back, Overnight at hotel

Day 06 : Depart Coimbatore
Morning transfer to Coimbatore Railway station (95 kms ) to board the train for onward journey.
